In these examples, we have the three characters from the character generation page. Jack is playing the Knight, Sir Damon. Jeroen is playing the Strongman Thane, and Jenny has decided to name her Sorceress Nimue. The GM is Matt.
Example 1
In the first example, Nimue's neighbours have decided to evict her by force. An army numbering in the tens of thousands is spread out below her tower.
GM: Ok, Jenny, there's a great big army spread out below, at the foot of your tower. They've got siege engines, cavalry, foot soldiers, and there's a few big battering rams near the front of the army. There's a guy standing at the front of the army yelling up - you can only hear what he's saying because your familiar is down near the army. "In the name of King Francis of Guis, we order you to leave this land, rightly property of the Crown. Should you resist, by the Rules of War, we shall raze your tower to the ground!"
Jenny: The nerve! Ok, I want to turn these guys into something harmless. How about sheep? Can I turn the entire army into sheep?
GM: You can do it in batches, no problem. It'll take a while though, there's a lot of them.
Jenny: No, I want to do it all at once. I want to make a real show of power and end this before anything gets damaged beyond my lawn.
GM: (Does some quick looking up of things) OK, if you push yourself, you can turn them all at once, but it's going to drain you pretty badly. We're talking potential injury territory here.
Jenny: I'll risk it. If they're all sheep, I can afford to be woozy for a bit.
GM:Ok, you call down an incantation, there's a surge of power, and then the entire army is transformed into sheep. The sea of white is the last thing you see before everything goes black.
Jeroen: Ooh! We left Thane being carried away by the Heirarch's giant eagle, right? I'm going to spend a Story Point to have the eagle's flight path take me over Nimue's tower just after she blacks out. I bandage her up and such and make sure she's ok.
GM:Sure! Just give Jenny the point. Ok, when Nimue wakes up, she's in bed, with bandages on her arms. There's a bowl of broth beside her, and a very large, very handsome man grinning down at her...
